Flagship Active 52 weeks

Autonomous Quad 2026

A from-scratch autonomous quadcopter. Cube Orange+ on PX4 with a single companion computer (Jetson Orin Nano Super, likely — decision post W5). Goal: a drone that flies a waypoint mission with vision-based obstacle avoidance, GPS-denied fallback navigation, and a fully open-source build.

  • 12-month roadmap from a pile of parts to flight
  • All BOM, code, CAD, and tuning logs public
  • Sim-first development in Gazebo Garden
  • ~$1,750–2,550 total project cost
  • Single-companion architecture

ESP32 companion sensor node

A cheap ($20) WiFi-attached IMU/magnetometer/GPS node for distributed sensing on outdoor builds. Pluggable into ROS2 over UDP. TBD.
